I’m thankful that we were able to hack down the remaining foliage in the garden last weekend, before it got REALLY cold. (okay, “REALLY cold” compared to the 70-degree weather I was enjoying throughout October) [I'll post more about this once I get the pictures from my husband's camera...]
I’m thankful for getting to meet some missionaries that our church supports on Monday. We had a great time in the northern reaches of the state shopping for their American food store. (I’ll never see buying in bulk in quite the same way again!) It is wonderful to now be able to put not just a face, but a personality to the names that we pray for regularly in church. I love the opportunity for behind-the-scenes support of our missionaries!
I’m also thankful for a good time in the car with the people from my church who went on the shopping trip. I’m really glad that I am getting to know them better and for the opportunity to learn more about their heart for missions, etc.
I’m thankful that I could take Tuesday off from work because I have a wretched cold. I was able to get some much-needed sleep and sort of veg out for the day. I considered doing some scrapbooking/tree skirt quilting, but couldn’t summon the energy. So I enjoyed an afternoon watching HGTV
I’m thankful that this week hasn’t been too demanding at work, since I’m still sick and am not up to a whole lot.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve the community, even if it’s just a little bit, by helping sort food at the Food Bank last night with a group from our church. I hope that our church is a good witness to the people at the Food Bank, too.
I’m thankful that God pursues me, even when I’m not very good at pursuing Him. He is faithful.
