Tasty strawberries

Our strawberries have been faring much better this round of blossoms, as I think I’ve mentioned in previous posts.
They are about twice the size, at least, of the first strawberries we were getting, and they taste sweet! Unfortunately, Husband and I are apparently not the only ones who think they taste good…

Well, we cut our last cucumber last night. It may have had some time left on the vine still, but it needed to get cut… The second (and last) cucumber plant contracted something nasty… I’m pretty sure that it had powdery mildew* and then last night I noticed something else:

We have a new addition to our garden– two lovely basil plants from J & C!!
I am very excited about this and am planning all kinds of recipes that call for fresh basil, especially now that tomatoes are imminent… Caprese salad… tomato pie… fresh tomato sauce… yummmmmmmmm!
