The garden is doing well. Above is a view of the whole thing… I took some pictures this afternoon and last Sunday to share… I’ll let the photos and their captions stand for themselves tonight.

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for the productivity I have been having with my work. Even though I got a cold from Husband, I was able to work 2 full days from home. Husband figured out a way for me to hook up my work laptop to the TV at home so that I could [...]

Yes, I do realize it’s Friday– but better late than never!
I’m thankful this week that some loose ends for my dissertation work are starting to get tied up. One last major hurdle and I think I’m set to go to finish my analysis. And today I officially set my defense date for July 22. It’s [...]

I’ve been looking forward to this day all winter long! I planted out my tomato and herb sprouts that had been growing in Husband’s office.
We trucked them home on Friday after work, and I could hardly wait to start planting them on Saturday. Here’s the balcony before I started. You can see that the lettuces [...]

There are lettuce and pea sprouts in my outdoor pots! Whee! Last Saturday the weather was so beautiful that I had to get outside. So after I got home from helping some friends move in the morning, I went out and set up my pots on the balcony. Since I’m using potting soil for the [...]

I mentioned in an earlier post that the condo association for our building decided to have the wooden balcony railings, etc. repainted. They asked all the unit-dwellers to move our stuff so that it wouldn’t be in the way of the painters. I was pretty sad to chop down most of my garden, but it [...]
Peas and the amazing revitalized plant

I just thought that I’d share a photo of the pea sprouts that I took over the weekend. I planted about 9 pea seeds and almost all of them came up (what a difference from the set that I planted in early spring…)
And the yellow pear branch that a I replanted on a whim (see [...]
Pea sprouts

I already have 4 happy little pea sprouts in the pot where I planted seeds last Tuesday. I have to say, it is awfully nice to see perky new life when the rest of the garden is starting to wind down. Fall is always a bittersweet time for me.
Vacation, storms, a failed experiment, and some peas

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve posted… We went on vacation to North Myrtle Beach, SC with my extended family and had a wonderful time. God blessed our trip– we missed all the really bad weather due to the hurricanes, and it was a lovely 6 days of sunshine and only a little bit [...]
Time for a photo-update

The garden is completely exploding with foliage.
I can’t believe how big the tomato plants are (righthand side of the above photo)– especially considering I was so worried about them surviving when I first transplanted them this spring!
What is puzzling to me (though not unwelcome!) is that the peas have started producing again!
At the [...]
