Recently I’ve been getting and/or seeing a lot of memes, so I thought I’d post a couple here. I haven’t done one of these since at least college!
5 Things Meme (see Fruittart’s blog)
5 random facts about me
- I love reading books written for children and young adults. Some of my favorites include The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis, Jane of Lantern Hill by L. M. Montgomery, the “Shoes” books by Noel Streatfeild, etc…
- The national anthem makes me cry. So do sirens, but for a completely different reason.
- I love to dance the Hustle. In fact, my wedding party (was coerced to?) learn the steps and we danced it at our wedding reception. It was glorious– I had such a fantastic time!
- My dream house is a lighthouse on some remote, rocky shore (maybe in Maine?). I love the ocean, and I love solitude. It’s a perfect combination!
- I love learning about word origins. If I had heard of the field earlier than my senior year in college, I may have changed majors and studied etymology.
4 Things Meme (I got this one from my cousin via email)
Four things about me, that you may or may not know, in no particular order:

Feel free to fill out your own version of one of these memes. Go on, you know you want to 😉

Love those books too! It was fun reading about you- I too would love a lighthouse on a remote beach as a home.
Have you read all of LM Montgomery’s books?
Gabi-
I have certainly read a lot of L. M. Montgomery books. Unfortunately some of them are hard to find because they are out of print. I have had success finding some at websites with free online books. But I do love her writing style 🙂
This is really fun!!! I had a good time reading about you, too. 🙂 Maybe one of these days, when I have a moment, I’ll do this on my blog. It’s neat getting a glimpse of people’s lives this way.
Oh, and next time I see you (if I remember) I need to talk with you about your t-shirt quilt. I have been saving shirts that have special meaning to me and have been wanting to make them into a quilt/throw blanket, but have had no idea how to begin!
Sure, ebenezers, I’d be happy to tell you how I made the top of my T-shirt quilt… I’m still working on the quilting and binding parts!
Have you ever heard the radio show “A Way With Words” on public radio? It’s all about etymology and people call in to ask the origin of certain words and phrases. I think you would love it!
I haven’t heard of it! I’ll look into it. I wonder if they have downloadable epsodes…
oooh! they do! I’ve subscribed in iTunes. Thanks for the recommendation 🙂
