You know, it’s funny. When I’m at home for the holidays, I often forget to take photos. You may be saying to yourself, “What?! Natalie forgets to take photos?” Yes, it’s true. I think it’s because things are so familiar and comfortable at home, I just don’t think of it. In 2008, I got a new camera for Christmas– but I got it at Thanksgiving, because my old camera had just died. In playing with my new “toy”, I ended up capturing some “normal” Thanksgiving stuff that I don’t think I’ve documented before in my scrapbooks. I am so thankful to have these photos!
This month’s Lucky Girl kit has the perfect products for documenting your family gatherings— and I especially appreciated the BIG journaling spots where I could really write down a lot of details.
And self-adhesive chipboard?!! Genius! I had no idea I could love chipboard so much, haha 🙂
With the gorgeous papers in this kit, I didn’t have to do much to make them look great. I simply pieced the blocks of paper and photos to make a wide strip across my 2-page spread, and I added some stitching around the edges of each block to create a “patchwork” effect. Later today, I’ll be posting a little trick I figured out for getting thread ends tucked away neatly out of sight 🙂

And how about that GIVEAWAY??
One Lucky Girl will chosen from each blog in the party to win a packet of scrappy treasures – a mini inspiration kit filled with an assortment of ribbons, embellies, rub-ons, etc. just for playing along during November 1-3.**
For today’s entry into the drawing on my blog, simply leave me a comment on this post telling me what familiar or everyday family traditions you’re going to try to capture in photos (and then scrapbook with the November kit, right?! 😉 )
