First of all, I loved the comments I got on my “scrapbook confessions“… and I am planning a follow-up post about strap-hinge albums!
But this post is about yet another Christmas layout I made with the Lucky Girls December kit.
I got to use my NEW punch-around-the page! I found it on clearance the other day and used a bit of the Christmas money Husband’s parents gave me to get it. I LOVE border punches. Have I mentioned that before?
It follows (as much as I ever follow a sketch!) the Sketchy Thursdays 12.02.2010 sketch:
I am so glad that I had a sketch to work with, because I just wasn’t feeling this layout (it’s my Christmas layout syndrome, I think). The papers were perfect, the sentiment was perfect, but I just couldn’t get excited about this layout.
Edited to add: I am completely flattered that the Sketchy Thursdays DT chose my layout as one of their faves this week! Wow!!
There is a LOT of journaling on the pull-out behind the photos, because there was a great story about our gift exchange in 2008.
And there are more paper ruffles 🙂
Lucky Girl supplies:
die cut paper: Bo Bunny Noel
patterned papers: Making Memories Noel (Green Snowflake, Words)
other supplies:
cardstock: Paper Reflections
border punches: Martha Stewart “Bubble Bath”
brown pen: American Crafts SlickWriter
brown pigment ink; Stampabilities
Love this! That picture of hubby with the globes is so great!

That punch-around-the-page is FANTASTIC! I also struggle with Christmas pages. This one is great!
Amazing! I love the hidden part, and great photos!
This is just a fantastic layout! Love the structure, the details, the photos, and how it all tells a cohesive story. Great job! Thanks for joining the Sketchy Thursdays fun this week!!
Wow I love your new punch around the page!!!
See–I TOLD you this was awesome! 🙂
So what is the hubs holding? Are those globes????
I love the LO too!
HUGGLES!
Thanks, everyone, for the compliments! 🙂
and Lolly,
Yes, he is holding globes! It’s a mobile that I gave him as a “surprise” gift. It has 5 globes, and each one is done in the mapmaking style of a different century. It is HUGE (much bigger than I expected when I ordered it haha) and he loved it. I was so excited to find a gift that he loved so much. Thankfully our last place and now this place have rooms with high enough ceilings so that we can hang it!
Great page! I really like the pull-out.
Love this LO great colours and great textures LOVE IT!!!
