A friend and I got together last weekend for a frenzy of stamping and card-making. This is the first of a few posts about the cards I made that afternoon!
This first card was inspired by the Lily Bee card sketch challenge for July. I pulled out all of my carefully hoarded scraps of Lily Bee papers and found these three green patterns–each from a different collection!–that went together nicely. My card is fairly clean and simple, but I really like how it turned out.
I pleated a doily that I had on hand to become the circular element from the sketch. Rather than have the sentiment run along the diagonal, I stamped it onto a little tag and hung it from a bow in the center of the doily. A few blue brads pick up the color in the top pattern for a bit of bright contrast.
Supplies:
patterned paper: Lily Bee Design (Three Little Birds, French Couture, Vintage Poppy)
cardstock: Canvas Corp. (card base), unknown (cream)
embellishments: brads (the Paper Studio), paper doily, vintage crochet thread
sentiment stamp: Hero Arts Classic Messages 2×3
ink: Stampin’ Up, Stampabilities
