This past weekend, I had the honor of throwing a baby shower for one of my oldest and dearest friends. I had a wonderful time doing all sorts of crafty things to prepare for the party, so I’m going to kick off a blog mini-series about the shower by “showing off” the digital invitation I created.
I’m a dabbler at best with digital scrapbooking, but I learned a LOT making this invitation! I learned how to use the shape tool thingy to draw the hearts, I have a greater appreciation for the concept of layers — and their shadows, especially on the digital acrylic element.
But I have to say, the thing I am most proud of is those cute animals. The shower theme was based on my friend’s nursery theme, which is baby jungle animals. She had these NoJo Jungle Babies Wall Decals on her registry, and based on some tutorials I found online, I used PSE to extract four of the animal images to use as digital “stickers” on the invitation. Those animals became one of the main themes of the decorations for the shower, which I will share in later posts!
