For my in-laws this year for Christmas, I made two different paper-cut gifts. My mother-in-law knew about both of these gifts, so I was able to customize them exactly (hopefully!) how she wanted them.
First, I made them a hand-cut paper-pieced monogram. I really like making these monograms!
The second is very simple. My mother-in-law is decorating a guest bathroom in their new house with a leafy-fern theme, and wanted something coordinating to hang on the wall. I used a Silhouette cut file (leaf_1035) to cut a fern frond out of cardstock I’d inked with shades of brown. I foam-adhesive-d (yeah, that’s a word ;-P) the negative of the cut to a background of olive green fabric and inserted it into a frame. The frame came with the rattan-like mat, and it was absolutely perfect for this project!
