This skirt was supposed to be one of those projects that I saw and then worked on/completed almost right away. At least, that’s what my idea was. I just didn’t realize how much time those Halloween costumes would take…
I purchased 2 yards of clearance knit on 10/12/2013 for $12.72– the same day I purchased the fabric for Husband’s Captain Hook coat**. This cheerful striped fabric sat, tidily folded, on my craft room floor, mocking me, ever since! I had even printed out the pattern and taped the pieces together!
But once I found the time (this was a “bonus” accomplishment for February!), it didn’t take long at all! I completed this skirt, from cutting to hemming, over portions of 3 naptimes.
When I bought the fabric, I wasn’t necessarily thinking of maternity clothes, but I love wearing yoga-top maxi skirts as a maternity style! It’s going to be comfy and cute in the spring. And I even had a pink shirt that is the perfect color match!
Cost of materials: $12.72
Time: approximately 3 hours (portions of 3 naptimes)
**I also purchased another length of fabric at the same time for another “quickie” project…which still hasn’t happened yet…haha!
