A while ago, I bought this stamp set from Lawn Fawn, and the reason I chose it was because of this adorable kraken (sounds like an oxymoron, right?). Husband works with SQUIDs (it’s a physics thing, not the sea creature, in this case), and I am drawn to anything squid-like.
I also love the trend of these cute punny sentiments, and the combination of a squid and puns was too much for me to resist.
This was the first card I made with the set (back in January!!), and I made it for Husband’s birthday. I also used my MISTI tool (a gift Husband gave me for Christmas) and I absolutely loved using it. I got such good crisp stamp impressions because I was able to re-stamp in place two or three times (I really need to get a new black ink pad), and the stress of stamping wrong was lifted because I could plan everything out exactly.
Both the kraken/squid and tiny ship are fussy-cut, and I lifted the kraken/squid on pieces of craft foam to make him stand out even more. One of his tentacles rests on a little sentiment banner that is also adhered on foam.
