It seems as though it’s been forever since I made a “real” layout… not a digital one, not a pocket one. I’ve been enjoying watching scrapbook videos (namely Shimelle’s livestreams on FB) and just absolutely itching to make some things with photos and paper and stickers and pretty things.
So, instead of finishing up the captions for my Germany trip photos (oh yes, that happened! it was amazing… more about that later), or working on B’s album (even though I have the rest of those photos printed and I’m excited about that project, too), I decided to indulge in some pretty paper. Especially since on the same day, I hit a tiny jackpot of Shimelle products at my local Tuesday Morning store, and I wanted to USE them!
It turns out that I only used one of the newest-to-me products on this layout (the camera stamp), but I did open all the other packages and consider what would work best! I almost used some of the other products…
Recently, I also purchased a 25-pack of the “Treat Yourself” paper from Shimelle’s Glitter Girl line, and it seemed like the perfect time to start introducing it into the mix of products that I’m going to be using for this album. (Side note: Initially, this album was going to be all Starshine, with only a few other products added in, but I’ve realized that I need to broaden the scope a bit (especially when we start getting to the princesses and I “need” more purple…). In addition to “Treat Yourself”, I’ve acquired project pads from Head in the Clouds and Sparkle City that should fill that bill.) This layout combines that “Treat Yourself” starry paper with the wheeling star trails from Starshine, along with other Starshine bits and pieces.
The camera stamp is from Head in the Clouds. I also used stamps (like the “happy right here” sentiment) from Clearly Kelly (Magical) that I’ve had for a while but haven’t been brave enough to work into the album yet. I also snuck in one sticker from the Shimelle #Stickerbook!
Even though it’s a fairly straightfoward layout in the end, I’m proud of myself for actually diving in and starting to use some of my products. It’s going to be fun to mix them up as I continue working on this album!
