As a family of Star Wars fans, it is unsurprising that we have lightsabers in the house. From time to time, they appear in mock battles, and this little page tells the story of one of them. Just before bedtime one night, my son challenged my husband to a lightsaber duel, and my husband took it up a notch and put on some dramatic Star Wars soundtrack music to accompany their battle. It was the perfect story to tell with this month’s cut file from Disney Creative Co.!
This is an 8×8 layout; my son has a little album that’s all his own, filled with pages he’s made on his own, pages we’ve made together, and a few that I’ve made for him.
I backed the cut file with some matte metallic silver paper and a bit of green patterned paper. I cut the lightsaber out of shiny metallic blue paper (and my husband confirmed later that it was the right color for that lightsaber hilt! haha)
I added journaling on a 3″x4″ card that overlaps a grey block to anchor the photo+title+journaling cluster. I layered washi in a visual triangle.

The photos about 2″x2″ square, which is great for these low-light action shots. I arranged them in a stack with a film strip die cut behind them as a nod to the movie.
As a finishing touch, I took a strip of the shiny textured silver washi and stuck it on scrap white cardstock so that I could punch stars to sprinkle across the layout.
