edited to add: Thank you so much, Davinie, for spotlighting my layout for the Project 12 July reveal!
This is actually the 2nd beach vacation layout (and the third layout that day!! that’s got to be a record for me, not being at a crop) that I made on Monday… (the first one is waiting for a piece of its title to be die cut; I’m still waiting for Silhouette mats to come in the mail… I ordered the wrong ones the first time–the listing didn’t say whether they were thin or thick media mats, and I only found out after the order had shipped that they were for thin media. ::sigh::)
The layout design is inspired by the July 2011 sketch for Project 12. I like this sketch so much that I am going to try to use it again in the future.
I have found myself using my sewing machine more and more on my layouts since working on my wedding scrapbook pages… Here I just stitched lines in between the paper and photo blocks for some extra interest.
The patterned paper definitely helped perk up some rather uninspiring photos. (The color was a bit off when they got printed, and I didn’t want to bother having them reprinted.)
I’m getting close to finishing my Myrtle Beach 2008 layouts!! Woo!

I love this. Being able to dress up lackluster photos in an awesome layout always makes me feel so accomplished.
LOVE the colors you went with — really makes the layout shine!
