Final regalia ornaments

In the past almost six years, I have made approximately 100 regalia ornaments for about 63 different schools.  I have had some incredible interactions with some wonderful customers.  I have learned a lot about academic regalia.  I have learned a lot about owning a tiny self-run custom order business.

Including: having a custom-order business is not healthy for me.

And so, as I closed custom orders for the 2016 season, I also made the decision that my Etsy shop will be closed for the foreseeable future (read: forever).  I will be accepting NO MORE custom ornament orders.  I am grateful to all of my customers, past and present, for your support!

Shop announcement: PhD ornaments for the 2015 holiday season

I’ve already been busy creating custom regalia ornaments since I reopened my shop in September!  As the holiday season comes upon us, the ornament orders begin to come more quickly, and I want to make the announcement that:

In order to ensure that ornaments are delivered by Christmas, I will close custom orders on December 1.  

Ornament orders are accepted on a first-come, first served basis (as in, when your purchase transaction comes through, your ornament will be next on my list to make).

To submit a request and purchase a custom ornament, contact me through my Etsy shop.  There is a button on the left side of my Etsy shop that says “Request Custom Order”– if you click there, you’ll be able to submit your request to me.

Ornaments for the 2015 season start at $35 plus $6 shipping+handling, and if you’re in Maryland, there is sales tax, too, since that’s where I am located. (Note: if there are special modifications to the standard design, I reserve the right to adjust the price.)

It generally takes me 1-2 weeks to complete an ornament.  However, if the waiting list begins to grow, that amount of time it will take might increase.  I am always in contact with my customers while I am working on their ornaments, so I will make sure that you are well aware of when you will receive your ornament!

Wow!  I got an incredible response when I first re-opened my Etsy shop!

Lettered Olive Handmade: open again!

 

I am pleased to announce that Lettered Olive Handmade is again accepting custom orders for graduation regalia ornaments.

Please send me an email (QSOgirl at yahoo dot com) or contact me through my Etsy shop to request a customized listing.  Here are some details:

Price:

Ornaments are $35 plus $6 shipping/handling (as well as 6% sales tax if your delivery address is within the state of Maryland).  This price is effective for the 2015 season. 

 

Product details:
Clear glass ball: 3″ diameter
Regalia: approximately 2.5″ tall. (NO HATS/TAMS)
Cardstock tag (1″ long) printed with the year of graduation hangs from the loop at the top of the ball.

 

To complete your ornament, I will need the following information from you:
— school name (for my records)
— photos of FRONT and BACK of your school’s academic regalia that show the colors of the robe and hood as accurately and clearly as possible
— year of graduation for tag

 

Ornament orders will be taken on a first-come, first served (as in, when a purchase transaction comes through, that ornament will be next on my list to make). Each ornament takes approximately 1-2 weeks to complete.

Final PhD ornaments before sabbatical
