I had a Mickey Bar for the first time on our trip to Disney World in 2016. This layout is not about that Mickey Bar, but about the Mickey Bars my kids had that made me want to get my own!
It was chilly and the kids were bundled in the double stroller…but that didn’t stop them from utterly enjoying their ice cream treats! I wanted to highlight four 4″x6″ photos, so I decided to dedicate a two-page spread to this little story.
I started with Paige Evans’ Minnie mouse cut file with a bouquet of flowers by her ear, and I did some editing in Silhouette Studio to create a flowerless version to represent Mickey for the other side of the spread.

At first, I thought I would leave the cut files entirely open, since I liked the delicate effect, but as I added to the layout, I wanted the flowers to be a bigger design element. I used paper scraps from Shimelle Starshine (mainly the 6×6 paper pad) and my stash (orange and purple) to fill them in.
This layout is unusually flat for me– the cut files are so delicate and I didn’t have the patience to pop them up, but after a lot of squinting and head-tilting I was satisfied! I added a lot of paper layers around the photo to give the effect of dimension:
The embellishments are almost entirely from the Shimelle #stickerbook– I adhered many of them to plain white cardstock. I added wood veneer hearts from Lawn Fawn and finished off with a sprinkling of silver glitter enamel dots. No hidden Mickey on this layout– the cut files are pretty obvious!
