With the exception of the title page for our day here (I haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to put together those section dividers yet…), this pocket layout is the final piece of the Hollywood Studios section of my Disney 2016 scrapbook project! It’s really so exciting to see this project coming together, but I’m having so much fun creating my pages that I almost don’t want it to end!
I created this layout for the Disney Creative Co. December 2021 “Once Upon a Stash” challenge to use 6×6 paper pads. In my opinion, the smaller-scale patterns in 6×6 pads are perfect for pocket pages! It was an easy decision to pull out my Glitter Girl 6×6 pad, since I’ve used it elsewhere in my documentation of this day at Hollywood Studios.
I flipped through the pad and found three patterns that were perfect for this page: the rainbows, hearts, and stripes. I did pull in a 12×12 paper because I wanted a darker blue to balance and pick up the dark blues and purples in the photos (I’d already used that paper from the 6×6 pad, otherwise I would have used it here!)
I did two things to tie all the patterns together: the first was to back the film strip die cut with a repeat of the one of the other patterns as an accent behind my photos. The second was to use the offcuts from cutting the 4×6 pieces to cover half of the white background in my center strip of photos. I wanted to leave (literal!) white space for the eye to rest in the midst of the busyness of the patterns and photos, but still have that pop of color.

I created another area of white space in this filler card at the top left. I used a transparency piece on top of white cardstock that I embossed with a cloud pattern folder. I used some of the amazing sea-green glitter washi from the Little Mermaid Washi Set to tie it in with the bottom right corner…

The focus of this page was on the Disney Jr. Live show we saw, but we also loved the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I didn’t take photos inside the show, but I wanted to remember the cute way my daughter talked about her fear of Ursula. I used a small photo of the outside of the attraction and layered up strips of more of the Little Mermaid Washi Set around it. The purple acrylic Mickey paperclip was the perfect accent to finish off my little cluster.
